        Position Type: Full-time, salaried
        Position Salary: $100,000-$110,000
        Position Benefits: Benefits include health insurance, a friendly work environment, and flexible work options like working from home and a 4-day work week

        Overview

        PoliChic Engagement Fund (PCEF), a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization working to engage Texas women in elections and issue advocacy, is looking for an experienced, strategic, and results-driven individual to join our team as the Deputy Director. The Deputy Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the PCEF operations, fund development, and programmatic activity. The ideal candidate is goal-oriented, organized, and passionate about the values, priorities, and goals of the PoliChic Engagement Fund. The Deputy Director will work closely with the Founding Director to maintain robust programming, lead PCEF staff, and contribute to meeting fundraising goals.

        Key Responsibilities

        Program Activity

        • Manage the PCEF team to meet annual programmatic and performance goals
        • Support the staff and the Founding Director on project-specific tasks, including developing new programmatic initiatives and managing existing programmatic initiatives 

        Resource Development & Funder Relations

        • Identify, strategically cultivate, and solicit a portfolio of existing and new funders, including philanthropy, financial institutions, corporations, and government
        • Cultivate new and sustain current excellent relationships with foundations and other private and public funders around the region particularly through grant writing and reporting on PCEF impact
        • Develop and spearhead annual fundraising efforts, achieving annual milestones, and creating effective measurements and reports

        Financial And Performance Management

        • Oversee financial management systems, including expense and revenue booking and allocations, funding transactions, disbursements, invoices and expense reports
        • Assist Founding Director to prepare annual operating/program budgets and reports

        Additional Duties

        • Good understanding of nonprofit and corporate culture, with both national and local demands, to get work accomplished
        • Represent PCEF and the Founding Director at partner committee meetings and events
        • Participate in conferences, meetings, and other activities as needed
        • Perform other related duties as needed

        Qualifications & Requirements

        • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; post-graduate degree is a plus. Civic engagement, voting rights, communications, nonprofit management backgrounds preferred
        • Minimum 8 years progressive management experience in civic engagement, voting rights, organizing, or non-profit field. Must have the ability to motivate and nurture a positive and productive working environment
        • Highly motivated, solution-oriented, entrepreneurial individual who is self-directed, and able to successfully balance multiple priorities, be flexible, and work in a fast-paced environment
        • Working knowledge of the political and social environments of Texas strongly preferred
        • Experience building relationships, networking, and collaborating effectively with ethnically, culturally, socio-economically diverse populations and community organizations
        • Existing relationships with government, development, and community stakeholders
        • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including experience speaking publicly in diverse forums
        • Detailed and timely attention to reporting requirements and deadlines
        • Domestic travel required
        • Flexible schedule with occasional evenings and weekends required
        • Excellent written and communications skills
        • Experience working with diverse communities
        • Aligned with PoliChic Engagement Fund values
