    Founder and Director

    Born and raised in Texas, Christina Sanders, Founder of PoliChic Engagement Fund, has nearly two-decades of voter education, voter registration and policy advocacy experience. Christina has led and assisted countless local, state and national voter registration and policy advocacy efforts. She served as State Director of the Texas League of Young Voters and as a defendant intervenor on behalf of the Texas League of Young Voters for the Texas v. Holder Federal Court case opposing judicial preclearance of Texas Voter ID Bill (SB 5). Christina is an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Texas Southern University where, since 2009, and is a member of the Texas Advisory Committee for the U.S. Commission for Civil Rights. Former candidate for Houston City Council, she authored Get Your Weight Up: Things We Can All Do To Make America Better. In 2014, Marie Claire National Magazine dubbed her as one of the women “changing the face of Texas politics.” Christina is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Administration (Public Policy) from the Barbara Jordan - Mickey LeLand School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern University.

    Online Communications Coordinator

    Ameena Rasheed is the digital and communications coordinator for the Polichic Engagement Fund. A Houston native, Ameena has been working as a media professional since 2013. She's had work published in and worked with several organizations, such as the Houston Chronicle, Houston Press, University of Houston, Des Moines Register, USA Today, and others. In 2017, she was recognized by Ebony magazine as one of the 10 Black women to know in public relations, technology and digital media. In her spare time, she enjoys doing volunteer work with the local chapter of Black Girls Code and as a member of the Junior League of Houston. Ameena is a graduate student pursuing a master's degree in data analytics from the University of Houston-Downtown. She also holds an undergraduate degree in journalism from Texas Southern University.

    Digital Engagement

    Brian K. Spady, originally from Prince Georges County, Maryland, is a digital engagement lead with PoliChic Texas. Brian attended Texas Southern University in Houston and has spent the past four year exploring and experimenting with ways to effectively engage others using social media. He uses his media marketing experience to create dialogue and assist in educating Texas women through nonpartisan election and public policy related content.

    North Texas/ New Leaders Coordinator

    Jireh Davis is a 2L at the Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas. While at Thurgood Marshall, Davis maintains active participation as the Delegate of Diversity and Inclusion for the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association, the Co-Community Service Chair for U.N.I.T.E., and is a member of both the African Law Student Association and the Black Law Student Association. Davis attended the University of Florida and majored in both Political Science and African American Studies. While there, she founded the T.I.E. Community Initiative and became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Davis enjoys shopping, trying new restaurants, and watching sports. She is excited to step into her role as the North Texas/New Leadership Coordinator.

    Volunteer Coordinator

    Raymonda Patterson is the volunteer and data coordinator for PolChic Texas. She has over a decade of experience in civic engagement and hold a B.S. in Public Service Leadership from the University of Houston- Clear Lake. Raymonda is passionate about community involvement and enjoys educating others about organizing and supporting them while they volunteer.



    The PoliChic Engagement Fund's mission is to activate new generations of Texas women in elections and public policy.
