    Overview

    PoliChic Engagement Fund (PCEF), a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization working to engage Texas women in elections and issue advocacy, is looking for an experienced and values-driven individual to join our team as the Justice Coordinator. The Justice Organizer is responsible for championing justice strategies within PCEF’s programming. The ideal candidate is goal-oriented, organized, and passionate about the values, priorities, and goals of the PoliChic Engagement Fund. The Justice Coordinator will work closely with the Deputy Director and Program staff to ensure participants are trained, supported, and feel confident about leveraging justice strategies in their advocacy and engagement work.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct an annual assessment in Texas and other locations of importance to identify challenges facing women and opportunities for justice-focused interventions in the social, menstrual, climate, economic, and equal rights areas
    • Collaborate with PCEF staff and partners to develop and maintain justice-focused programming
    • Educate program participants on how to change laws and champion policy making that is equitable, fair, and inclusive
    • Work with PCEF staff, partners, and program participants to create community-wide plans for supporting and sustaining the implementation of restorative approaches
    • Support PCEF program participants and volunteers responsible for implementing and sustaining the restorative justice implementation plan
    • Facilitate ongoing justice trainings for key stakeholders
    • Assist with coordinating community-building opportunities and workshops in restorative justice approaches
    • Participate in community meetings as needed
    • Track and report data
    • Support individuals in leading restorative justice implementation in communities
    • Ensure restorative justice practices are integrated with a racial justice lens
    • Participate in conferences, meetings, and other activities. May require some domestic travel
    • Perform other related duties as needed

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred or a minimum of five years experience preferred
    • Knowledge about judicial, legislative, and local policing laws and systems and support implementation of sustainable engagement
    • Experience using restorative justice practices such as restorative circles and conferences for community building, accountability, in response to harm and conflict, and for re-integration
    • Expertise in skills and knowledge of restorative practices and restorative justice including: philosophy, principles, models, interventions, forms, and techniques with a focus on communities of color
    • Commitment to social and racial justice and knowledge of community organizations
    • Strong outreach, interpersonal, writing, and communication skills
    • Strong ability to work with a team as well as independently
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders including families, youth, and communities from a wide range of cultural, social and economic backgrounds
